All the materials needed to create fused masterpieces! |
Phil explaining the fusing process to the Darden Group |
In the past few weeks McMow has been very busy! We were pleased to be able to give a tour of our studio and teach a group of Foreign Exchange Students from Spain the art of stained glass. We also taught a group of children ages 6-13 all about the fusing process where they even got to create masterpieces of their own to take home with them! Most recently, we visited the Breakers and gave a 3 hour private fusing class to 40 adults with the Darden Group who were in town for a conference. Nothing pleases us more than being able to share our knowledge of the glass arts with our community! If you are interested in finding out more about a tour of the McMow studio or a private class, please call Taylor at 561.585.9011x108.

Fusing Fun!
This summer has been full of fusing fun! Fusing One was a
blast and our talented students created some really cool works! They learned
all about the process of fusing, and then got to try their hand at creating
pieces of their own! Once they cut and assembled their art, it was fired for
several hours in one of the many kilns at McMow. McMow offers several classes
in fusing- for all skill levels! Visit our website www.mcmow.com for more information and to sign
up for classes.

Best in Show winner creates another Masterpiece!
Everett Conklin, the winner of our Annual Glass as Art Contest held in April each year, has created another masterpiece! Part of the grand prize this year included a hand drawn stained glass pattern of his choosing. A few days after announcing the winners, Everett stopped by McMow with a photograph of what he wanted adapted into a pattern... he had been wanting to create it in glass for some time but wasn't quite sure how. McMow was able to help him with this- from drawing the pattern to help picking the glass. Everett has mastered the art of stained glass and recently began experimenting in fused glass. He creates a very unique, successful look here by incorporating both of these techniques into his panel. To see other works by Everett, stop by McMow where we are pleased to be displaying several of his pieces right now.
